The Wisdom of Solomon for Shopping, Eating and Dining
When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee: And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite. Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.
Proverbs 23:1-3 KJV
One thing is clear about our modern 21st century world is that we are ruled by big corporations. Some of them, particularly those in the food industry are global, household brands. They should be mistrusted and all that they offer must be carefully considered before making a decision to part with your money and consume their products. I am particularly thinking of anything that is physically swallowed such as foods, herbal remedies, and pharmaceuticals. It is really worth considering the Wisdom of Solomon particularly enlightening in the Amplified Version.

A Bible verse on grace and hope
Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
To anybody who has any doubt about God’s grace and mercy let this scripture bless you today. This Bible verse of the day is a scripture on grace. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases they are new every morning. Great is His faithfulness.

This Bible verse is about grace and hope.
Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life”.
In John’s Gospel Chapter 8, the stage is set for an amazing showdown between Jesus and the religious people who contended with him. They were always looking for ways to catch him out and trap him into saying the wrong thing. However, not once did Jesus ever say something that was not truth.

Jesus, the Lamb of God has saved us
Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world
This Bible verse today is found in the first chapter of John’s gospel. Here we find another John, not the author of John’s gospel but called John the Baptist. He was born shortly before Jesus. His birth had been prophesied in the Old Testament book of Isaiah. He was called to be a forerunner of Christ, born to proclaim to the Jews that their Messiah was amongst them.
