An inspirational Bible verse of faith

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1: 1

This inspirational Bible verse is found in John’s Gospel – the very first verse.

The next verse speaks of God’s creative power and His preeminence and pre-existence before our known Universe.

He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.  And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. (John 1:1-4)

It also says in the Book of Psalms:

Before the mountains were born, before you had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God. (Psalm 90:2)

The very first verse in the Bible says:

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)

These inspirational scripture verses from the Bible speak of God’s eternal presence.

I particularly like this verse in Colossians:

For by him all things were created, in the heavens and on the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things are held together.

Colossians 1:16-17 (WEB)

Whatever you may believe about the formation of the Universe and how it was made, the Bible says that God was before all things, even before the earth was made. He is from eternity to eternity. He is eternal.

In the book of Revelations it says:

“I am the Alpha and the Omega” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8

These Bible verses about God speak for themselves and I cannot add to them. If you’re somebody who enjoys philosophy or cosmology, these Bible verses are worth mulling over and thinking about. Ultimately, it is a matter of faith. Either you believe that there is God and He is eternal or you believe there is no God. This is one of those things where there is no middle ground.

In the book of Job, God asks him a question:

Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, “Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man, for I will question you, then you answer me “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding.

Job 38: 1-4

To those who dispute the existence of God, it would be prudent for them to ask themselves the same question!
