Jesus paid the price for us to be well – a Bible verse on healing 1 Peter 2:24

Who His own self bore our sins in His body on the tree that we having died to sins might live to righteousness: by whose stripes you were healed,

1 Peter 2: 24

I have read that the brutal Roman flogging that Jesus endured was horrific and violent.  A flagellum similar to a ‘cat o’ nine tails’ that had several leather strands attached embedded with lead and sharp pieces of bone was the instrument of torture.

The Wisdom of Solomon for Shopping, Eating and Dining

When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee: And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite. Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.

Proverbs 23:1-3 KJV

One thing is clear about our modern 21st century world is that we are ruled by big corporations.  Some of them, particularly those in the food industry are global, household brands.  They should be mistrusted and all that they offer must be carefully considered before making a decision to part with your money and consume their products.  I am particularly thinking of anything that is physically swallowed such as foods, herbal remedies, and pharmaceuticals.  It is really worth considering the Wisdom of Solomon particularly enlightening in the Amplified Version.

He will never let us be lost!

For God so loved the world, that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:16

This great love dispels all doubts about our eternal destination.

For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.

John 3:16 AMP

John 8: 12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Walking with Jesus is walking in the light of life

Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”

John 8: 12

In John’s Gospel Chapter 8, the stage is set for an amazing showdown between Jesus and the religious people who contended with him. They were always looking for ways to catch him and trap him into saying the wrong thing. However, not once did Jesus ever say something that was not a great truth.

Bible verses on love when you are grieving for the death of a loved one.

‘I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live’

John 11:15

As I was reading John’s Gospel, Chapter 11 in the Amplified Bible, I gained fresh insight into how tenderly Jesus cared for Martha and Mary whilst they were grieving for their brother Lazarus.
